Que les parece o como usan la barra con respecto a los bookmarks??
Soy usuario de gmail y quiero una solución con respecto a los bookmarks y poder compartirlos entre diferentes PCs. Que opinan? como la usan? que features son las que mas usan??.

How do you use the Google Bar in Firefox? I want a solution about bookmarks but doesn't want another sign in (ex: delicious). I'm a google user of gmail etc...

i'm returning to see the site: http://www.43things.com and I found that It let you post to your blog the achievements of your goals.

I tell you a little about 43things.com
It's a social site to share how you achieve your goals, find people with similar interest and If they achieve their goals you can read how they do that! Amazing!!

You can read the advance of people, If the goal is worth doing and how they feel about finish the task so you can decide to do or not to do the task you are planning.

I suscribe to this site long time ago but this times that I feel that I have to manage better my time I need to re-take my visits to this site.

I recomend my readers to take a little tour and let me some comments.

I will begin to achieve some goals, I register some time ago, and I will begin to post here and in 43things.com

How I did it: First I begin programing in a programing language in this philosofy (java). After that I search a lot about free software libraries, phorums, sites, documentation, mailing list. In summary stay in touch with the community.

Try to tell people about free software

Get involved with some community.

Write code! Have fun.

"Did you Know?" Video: Exponential changes

Hi!...

Surfing the net I found this video and I want to share with you.

It reflects from the begin the actual situation about the exponential grow of Internet and this new media that are changing the human life.

I'm agree with the video and the last video of the Web 2.0 that we, as society, must re-think a lot of things.

I want that you take some minutes and see this video and the last one I posted about Web 2.0 about this changes.

Here It is:

Some questions that are around my head:
- Are we providing the correct education to our kids?

- Are we building the correct laws?
We have to re-think intellectual property.

This new media is based on ideas (abstract) not concrete things that we can touch.
Who is the owner of the ideas?
Can we say that an idea can be patented?
Can some "big" company, for example, patent the "double click" ??.
Can we say that we invent some ideas, if we born in a society where we grew up with a lot of cultural/ideas influences?.

Please think about that...

Free Software and The Free Software / Open Source Movement are claiming that this types of thinking are too dangerous to our society, the thin limit make us blind about this fact.

Well, I hope you post lot of comments about this post!! I will waiting for them! ;)

Pingback is a method to keep the links that are referencing our posts.

It's a form of being aware about the links from the outside that are referencing the articles in our blogs.

Pingback is a technology that allow web authors to request notification when somebody links to one of their documents.

Let's go with an example:
Web author of Site A writes an interesting article on his Blog. Site B's Web author then reads this article and comments about it, linking back to Site A's original post.
Using pingback, Site B's software can automatically notify Site A web author that his post has been linked to, and Site A's web author software can then include this information on his site and be aware about comments on the blogosphere.

For example: I put here a link to a post in my Personal Blog Twitter and the rising of nanoblogs this post talk about the funny site of Twitter and the nanoblogs, I recommend this article ;)

So Why Pingback is important?. This tool or mechanism is important 'cause It allows us keep a conversation in a distributed environment and be aware what are other people are saying about our articles.

It's an easy form of navigate through a distributed conversation and keeping the information organized and related! It's amazing! What do you think?.

RSS: Organize and Update your content easily

RSS Feeds is a technology that makes the blogger and reader's life easier in being aware about new content.

RSS consists in a document that represents a site's summary, It contains a title, a description (article summary) and the URL of that article.

The blogger has tools to put in his blog a link to this document. When a reader clicks in this link he/she subscribes to the service of being notified of new content.

The final user has an aggregator (a software that can request and read this kind of RSS documents) in his machine so he can centralize all his favorites web sites and he can be notified without visiting the web sites.

The RSS model is a subscription-notification mechanism, when new content is created the subscribers are notified of that.

Here are some kind of aggregators:

1) The Mozilla Firefox Web Browser Plugin:
You can add to your bookmarks the rss feeds you want as easy as put a bookmark (Thanks Free Software!! ;) ):

2) KDE - Kontact:
Kontact is an application that is a mail client, RSS Feed agregator, notes holder, tasks (ToDo List), contacts and calendar.
I have this application installed on Ubuntu (a famous linux distribution: Free Software Operating System).

3) Bloglines - http://www.bloglines.com:
This is a Web RSS Feed aggregator, we have to sign in this site and subscribe our favorites rss feeds.

My Personal Project + My Own Blog

Hi all!!

I'm happy to share with you and introduce you to my personal project that is growing step by step but keep moving.

One goal of my personal site is to concentrate the knowledge I found surfing the net, working experiences, reading books, and so on.

As you can see the site is a bilingual site: Spanish and English so I want to open to other countries.

This article is intended to show some sites that are interesting for me to know about.

They share the feature that they make people communicate, share ideas and so on, I mean they are human-based.

Here the list of some "Social" sites:

The goal of this site is to represent links between people and a common language to represent human relationships so other sites can do searching or computer tasks more clever.

* Neurona - http://www.neurona.com
This site store our contact network.
It represent the people connection and It makes easy to do contacts from another friend network.
We can put here our profile and contact people of the same interests, contact other people to do some business, share ideas in forums.

This site is really amazing! I found one year ago and It's goal is to share people GOALs and the SOLUTION they made or the way they take to achieve their goals!
It's really amazing to see the comments or advice from other people about the same goals that they realize.

What's Free Software and Why it matters?

In a previous post I talked about Free Software but let's discuss what is it about...

A computer program is Free Software if It fullfills the following four laws:

* The user has the freedom to use the software with any purpose (freedom 0).

* The user has the freedom to study how program works and adapt it to its needs (freedom 1). The access to the source code is a previous condition for this point.

* The user has the freedom to distribute copies of the program so the user can help another person (freedom 2).

* The user has the freedom to improve the program and make the improvements public to the others, so that all the community benefits (freedom 3). The access to the source code is a previous condition for this point.

So with this definition we are in presence of the spirit of the Free Software movement.
This community is the largest one in the internet that has a social, collaborative workers network all around the world.
The 70% of the web servers are hosted by Apache (see http://www.apache.org) a Free Software program that make us possible to surf the net.

Google is built on top of Open Source Software (Free Software)

Some Free Software important projects:

* PHP / Java / Python (Programming languages).
* And much more...!

Free Software for a Free Society

In this post I want to talk from one of my passion that take me to this point, building this Blog.

I want to transmit and share with you the vision of the Free Software movement http://www.gnu.org/.

This movement rise in the beginning of the 1970 decade with the intention to resist what Richard Stallman, the father of the Free Software movement, sees in those days, that our society is going to knowledge privatization, information control from a few private groups and how dangerous is that.

Between their basic principles we found share knowledge to create a society with more justice and opportunities for all of us.

But It's better that Richard Stallman explain us the Free Software spirit with few words!! here It is:

As the title of this video says Common Sense, I think that It resumes all and It's the beginning of this movement that in this days is moving the floor of our global information society.

Here I am, starting this blog to sharing you information and read yours.

This Blog is part of the project English Virtual Community. I think this personal and group project is very important, not only to practice english but to sharing information, knowledge, experiences, and so on.

The goal for this blog is to share with you my interests and brings to you useful information, and try to read and write in English too!! Now I'm remembering to apply to the English course :)
